Nick, a proud owner of UpTop Roofing, is a dedicated professional and a Denver native through and through. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, his connection to his hometown is an integral part of his personal and professional life.
A proud family man, Nick is married and the father of four wonderful children - two boys and two girls. He cherishes every moment spent with them, reinforcing the strong bonds that tie his family together. Outside of work and family life, Nick's passions extend to classic cars, a reflection of his appreciation for design, craftsmanship, and history.
His commitment to service and helping others shines through in his professional journey. After spending seven rewarding years in the auto industry selling cars, Nick made a significant career shift. His transition to the roofing industry was fueled by a passion for the trade and a desire to provide superior service to his community.
Since entering the commercial roofing sector, Nick has brought a combination of technical expertise, commitment to quality, and a customer-first approach to UpTop Roofing. Alec Doucette
Alec, one of the proud owners of UpTop Roofing, is a man of versatile talents and deep connections to his roots in Aspen, Colorado. Born in 1973, Alec's early life on a ranch outside Hot Sulphur Springs shaped his strong work ethic, love for the outdoors, and a sense of community that he carries with him to this day.
Graduating from Middle Park High School in 1991 and the University of Northern Colorado in 1995, Alec's educational pursuits laid the foundation for a multifaceted career. He first entered the field of criminal justice, where he worked diligently from 1995 to 2012. His commitment to justice and community safety was a defining feature of this period of his life.
In 1999, Alec displayed his entrepreneurial flair by founding a bingo supply company, which he continues to own and operate. This venture showcases his business acumen and ability to identify unique market opportunities.
2021 marked a significant transition for Alec as he ventured into the roofing industry. His leadership at UpTop Roofing draws on his diverse experiences and translates into a business approach grounded in integrity, innovation, and customer focus.
Family is the cornerstone of Alec's life. Married with seven children and eight grandchildren, he skillfully balances his demanding professional life with a rich and fulfilling personal life. Alec's hobbies further reflect his love for Colorado's natural beauty; he's an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoys gambling and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family.

Javier Lopez
Hailing from the dynamic landscape of Denver, Colorado, Javier Lopez seamlessly merges the heart of a native with the precision of a seasoned expert. From his early days being trained in commercial insurance adjusting to a fortuitous introduction to commercial contracting through a family connection, Javier’s journey is one marked by growth, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. JR Walz
JR Walz, who grew up in Black Forest, Colorado, is an experienced Commercial Client Advisor at Up Top Roofing with a strong background in construction and commercial roofing.
With nearly four decades of experience in the construction industry, JR brings a practical, hands-on understanding of building systems, project coordination, and client service to every roofing project he is involved in. His extensive construction background has given him the ability to understand the unique needs of property owners, business owners, and commercial clients, helping them navigate projects with confidence and clarity.
Over the past decade, JR has focused much of his career on commercial roofing in the Colorado Springs area. Through this experience, he has developed a deep understanding of commercial roof systems, repairs, replacements, maintenance needs, and the importance of protecting a building owner’s investment. His knowledge of the local market and regional roofing challenges allows him to provide clients with thoughtful guidance and dependable support throughout the roofing process.
Today, JR serves as a valued member of the Up Top Roofing team, working closely with commercial clients to evaluate their roofing needs, review available solutions, and ensure each project is approached with professionalism and care. His straightforward communication, construction experience, and commitment to doing right by the client make him a trusted resource for businesses and property owners throughout the region.
Outside of work, JR enjoys spending time with his family. During the summer, you can often find him wake surfing, and in the winter, he enjoys trying to get away to the beach whenever he can.

At 34 years old, Octavio's passion for roofing is matched by his love for the outdoors and classic cars. An avid road biker and mountain enthusiast, he enjoys the beauty and adventure that Colorado offers. When he's not working or exploring the mountains, Octavio loves spending weekends cruising around with his family in his cherished classic car.

Ricky Dean
Meet Ricky Dean, a dedicated Client Advisor at Up Top Roofing! Ricky brings nearly 15 years of roofing experience to the team, along with a strong background in insurance, customer service, and commercial roofing. His journey into the industry began unexpectedly while passing through Denver, where a friend who had started a roofing business asked for help with insurance paperwork. What began as a temporary opportunity quickly turned into a long-term career built on expertise, ownership, and a genuine passion for roofs.
Ricky spent his early years in the industry handling supplements and insurance-related paperwork before moving into residential roofing sales. Over time, he found his specialty in commercial roofing and flat roof systems, where he has focused much of his career for the past decade. His hands-on knowledge, attention to detail, and understanding of the claims process allow him to guide clients with confidence from the first conversation through the final result.
After spending time outside the roofing industry, Ricky realized that his true passion had always been roofs. He enjoys the challenge of getting on top of a building, assessing the work firsthand, and taking ownership of each project from start to finish.
